 COURSE DESCRIPTION AND AIM

 

Basic knowledge and experience about nutrition, as well as the impact of lifestyle and how to manage it in patients. Skills for preparing a balanced healthy menu, knowledge of different diets, what risks and benefits they have on human health.

 

     

COURSE CONTENT:

Basics of nutrition - what are macronutrients

2

Basics of nutrition - what are micronutrients

3

How to build a balanced and healthy menu

4

How to properly organize everyday life - tips for shopping, storing and preparing food

5

Influence of sleep and stress and how to manage them

6

What are the most common diets, what are the risks and health benefits. When to refer the patient /client to a specialist

 

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES 

 

Students who complete this course:

 

1) will know:

 

  • What the main macro- and micronutrients are
  • What affects nutrition, sleep and stress have on health
  • What a balanced healthy diet includes
  • What the most popular diets are, what the risks and what are the health benefits are

 

2) will be able to:

 

  • Prepare a healthy balanced menu for their patients /clients

  • To help manage the stress and sleep of their patients /clients
  • Recognize underlying conditions /diseases /disorders to refer patients /clients to a specialist
