Participants in the course will gain basic knowledge about the most important neurotransmitters and their effects. Basic concepts of the behavior of drugs in the body (pharmacokinetics) and the interaction with target structures to achieve a drug effect (pharmacodynamics) will be considered. The main groups of medicines (drugs) with an effect on the CNS with classification and names and focus on psychotropic substances will be presented. Peculiarities in the structure of drugs, routes of administration, dosage, types of drug effect and mechanisms of action of drug substances will be covered.
